When you live outside your country, there are some things that you must forsake. A lot of food and groceries are hard or impossible to find.

I few years ago I discovered a chain of shops that mostly cater to immigrants from eastern Europe, and they have some items that are also common in Norway, so now I can have “rømme og tyttebær” (sour cream and lingonberries). They also have properly smoked salmon, and other goodies.

Today I went there to stock up. It always feels good to have food I grew up with, it is like I get a little taste of home.
